Why do hotels always have crappy little kettles which take ages to boil?

I was just thinking about all the times I have stayed in hotels and I notice they ALWAYS have tiny kettles in the rooms. These kettles always take ages to boil. For instance the hotel I stayed in last night, had provided me with a kettle which was 700 watt, and took about 10 minutes to boil. What advantage is there to the hotel , in doing this? - I have always wondered.
