I met some people in New Orleans who played a game where they could guess a city that we gave to one of them.?

I told one guy a random city like Las Vegas, and the guy i told started saying how they were going to take a trip starting in Louisville and where they were going to go and the other guy from the talking about the trip guessed vegas.. they got the city right about 4 times.. What is the trick?!
