How can I get from Jersey City to Garden State Plaza with public transportation?

I go to private school in Jersey City, and most of my friends are from Bergen County. They really don't like coming here to hang out, but its hard for me to get there. What's the easiest way to get from Jersey City to Garden State Plaza on public transportation? Is there a bus or something or a train i can take?
